Quiet Explosions Film Wins 12th Award

TMS Solutions would like to congratulate two-time Emmy Award winning film maker Jerri Sher on her 12th award in National and International competitions for her documentary Quiet Explosions: Healing the Brain

Winner of the THE MOST IMPORTANT FILM FESTIVAL’s Impact Award for Excellence in Purpose-Driven Film for 2021, Jerri tells a masterful story of two medical conditions that are frequently seen dramatized in movies and television. She opens a window to the the complexity and devastating effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and PTSD through the personal stories of combat veterans, a Super Bowl MVP, collegiate gymnasts, and everyday heroes.

The film was inspired by the book Tales from the Blast Factory, written by Adam Marr about his Green Beret brother, Andrew Marr. Andrew is a mountain of a man and one you would want by your side in any situation. He was a demolition expert and breacher who returned home with a clear, but invisible TBI wound with bizarre and devastating symptoms that did not improve with standard, military treatment.

Jerry leads us on an exploration of TBI and PTSD with captivating sensitivity, empathy, and triumph while exploring state of the art therapies utilized to help. It was my privilege to provide TMS treatment to Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien at our TMS Solutions office in Spokane, WA, and have a brief appearance in this excellent documentary.
