With TMS Therapy -“Colors Are Brighter…It’s Almost Kind Of Scary”

colors are brighter,??said Nick O??adden, a mental health therapist who lives in Elk Grove, California.   ??ast night, I was looking at the moon, and it just looked clearer and brighter and more beautiful … It?? almost kind of scary to see that at first, it?? so new to me.??

“”Brain circuits awry: Magnet currents heart of new treatment for depression””

In a July 27th article in the Gazette.com, by Sammy Caiola of the Sacramento Bee (TNS), the author cites the case of a 31 year old patient, who was described as “”living in a daze, sprinkled with nighttime panic attacks.””

The patient, Nick O’Madden, described the changes he had experienced while reclining in a medical chair at TMS Health Solutions, as shown in the Randy Pench photo above.

While each session with TMS device lasts about 37 minutes, the mapping for the device takes a few minutes for each patient’s unique skull size. As you can see in the photo, you can read a book or in this case read your email during the non-invasive therapy. Once the therapy is finished, you are able to resume normal activities like driving yourself home or back to the office.

Stimulating the brain with NeuroStar TMS Therapy:

The Neuronetics NeuroStar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) System is classified by the FDA as a Type II medical device. Neuronetics pioneered the NeuroStar TMS Therapy? System, and has further refined the NeuroStar TMS Therapy device. It received FDA clearance as a medical device in 2008.

The therapy uses magnetic brain stimulation (similar to an MRI), which is a non-invasive, non-systemic, non drug treatment for depression. The NeuroStar device uses highly focused, targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate function in targeted regions of the brain. NeuroStar TMS Therapy is safe and effective. It is performed as an outpatient procedure, in a physician’s office. While each treatment session takes about an hour, the time with the device only lasts about 37 minutes, and is done daily (five days a week) for four to six weeks.
